Are other sizes available? Yes, we can print other sizes; you can send us an email at info@ancientshades.com, specifying the name of the map you are interested in and the approximate size. We will respond within 24 hours with a price estimate. As a note, the minimum sizes available for each map are set so that the text on the map is readable.

Are the maps framed? As mentioned for each product, the map frame is not included; the map is delivered rolled in a rigid cardboard tube. Upon request, we can also offer framing services, but only for smaller sizes, as there are size restrictions from the postal service.

How can I find out if a city/locality/point of interest is depicted on the map? You can send us an email at info@ancientshades.com, specifying the name of the map you are interested in and the name of the point of interest. We will respond within 24 hours.

Who created the maps? There are two categories of maps available on our site: modern and vintage. The modern ones are created by us, starting from the digital model of the terrain, over which all information layers are superimposed. Creating a detailed map of a medium-sized country requires approximately 80 hours of work. For the vintage ones, the author and publication year are specified. These are reproductions of old maps, whose images have been digitally processed: color enhancement, filling in missing information, removing stains from the image, etc.
